COURTYARD FLYAWAY SUCCESS WITH BASEBAND SOLUTION

 Farnham, 28th July 2004

Courtyard Electronics, renowned for its highly practical approach to TV equipment design, has introduced a compact, lightweight integrated solution that embraces all requirements for baseband signal processing in SNG/flyaway applications. This has already had commercial success as it forms a part of the SISLink uPOD SNG/flyaway package destined for use in the news operations of the UK's ITV network.

The Courtyard solution integrates all the baseband video and audio elements required for an uplink, reducing the physical equipment requirement to a single unit. Audio and video line-up is very straightforward. The module includes two LCD video monitors and audio level meters, as well as a bars (with Courtyard's rolling ident, much favoured for uplinks) and tone outputs. It has analogue and SDI inputs and outputs and is PAL/NTSC switchable.

Steve Cranny, Courtyard's sales director says, "We know exactly what's needed for SNG and flyaway baseband. We've been making it in separate boxes for years. To us, this is the obvious next step, where the customer gets everything he needs but in a far more compact, lighter, more robust and low power format. There are cost savings too, in the unit itself, and in the reduced need for coach building in vehicles. We're very excited, customer reaction has been really positive."
