ALL AFRICA GAMES RUNS TO COURTYARD'S PULSE

Courtyard Electronics have supplied JVC Professional Europe Ltd. with Sync Pulse Generators (SPG) destined for use at the eighth All African Games taking place in Abuja, Nigeria October 4-18. JVC, the prime contactors for the supply of new OBs and studio equipment for the Games, have chosen Courtyard for all their SPG requirements on this contract.

Courtyard is one the of the world's major SPG suppliers. For this project, 14 CY430D digital SPGs and Test Signal Generators have been delivered in total. At just 1 RU these units are compact and suitable for OB as well as studio use. They also provide the performance, stability and reliability needed for operation as master SPGs while also able to be genlocked for slaving to external sources. For the All African Games requirement all are working as master SPGs. 11 are for OB units comprising eight satellite trucks and three four-camera trucks. Two are allocated to studio operation at the IBC (International Broadcasting Centre). One is reserved as a spare to cover both studios and OBs.

More about Courtyard SPGs
The CY430D meets almost every requirement not only in the current SPG arena but also for test patterns with Pulse & Bar, Multiburst, Sweep, Bowtie and dedicated serial digital patterns including up to three rolling text idents and many more included. A very wide genlock timing of ±4 fields is available along with colour black outputs that are independently adjustable over the same range. Audio test tones are available as AES digital or embedded. Word clock is also supplied.

The CY430 is available for analogue installations.
